Water and Sewer

This project is very fortunate because both water and sewer connections were already stubbed into the property.  After a bit of work to find the stubs the team from Tom Hobson Excavating Company was able to trench and connect water and sewer into the building.

Gravel in the Basement

To help avoid negative shifting in the basement floor, due to the interesting expansive soils we have in this area, we installed several inches of gravel today below the future basement slab.  This required a small front loader to be lowed over the foundation wall into the basement.

The Big Pour

Posted on

Today Arapahoe Concrete, 18 delivery trucks and one very large pump truck pushed 180 yards of concrete between the forms to pour the foundation walls for the project.  It was a bit windy today but the teams worked past this and completed the pour in time for a late lunch!

THE Foundation

Posted on

My wife Corie had an awesome idea that each person in our family write down some of their favorite scripture verses on cards and then drop those cards between the forms for the concrete to be poured on top of.  A way of showing that we hope to build everything in life, including the physical foundation of this building, on THE foundation of the Word of God!
